According to Robert "Bud" Lowry this is the most common photo of Governor Lowry. Most likely the way he looked when he was in the house or senate - about 10 years before he was Governor - and how he looked when meeting President Johnson (in DC) to see about the release of Jefferson Davis from Ft. Monroe. It would have been a step into the National political spotlight, as it were, his first since the trial of Van Dorn testimony and his comment (in the official report) that "President Johnson would be impeached before Jeff Davis is brought to trial" did prove accurate. |
